Our relationship with our skin is a fickle one; when it’s good, we barely consider it, but when it’s bad, it’s all we can think about.

From constantly checking the mirror to investing in expensive potions, anyone who is prone to break outs has to face facts: sometimes, feeling great about the way we look is only skin deep.

And if unpredictable skin wasn’t annoying enough, we all know someone who has pulled the Ace Card when it comes to their complexions.

Is there a magic formula they have hiding in their bathroom cabinet that the rest of us aren’t privy to?

1) ALWAYS take your make up off

Seems a bit obvious, right?

But it’s massively important to wipe away the day – literally – before going to bed. Alongside your make-up, pollution and dirt can settle on the surface of your skin and quickly clog up your pores.

If left on overnight it can cause spots, cause dryness and dull complexion by settling into fine lines, actually making you appear older than you are!

So, even if you do it while lying in bed before zonking out – make sure you remove all facial products at the end of the day.

No one with great skin would dream about leaving their make-up when they go to bed; grab some micellar water and wipe away the day before drifting off

2) Get the right vitamins and nutrients

The link between the state of our skin and our diets has long been discussed, but what is universally agreed is that our diets need to be rich in nutrients – especially from fresh fruit and vegetables – to keep everything running smoothly.

The NHS suggests we should have at least five portions a day, with evidence stating that a balanced diet can lower risk of heart disease, stroke and some cancers.

But what about our skin? To look good on the outside, our bodies have to be running well on the inside – and with a diet full of junk food, inflammation can be increased and show itself in our skin through lack of radiance, blemishes, puffiness and dark circles.

Alongside a healthy diet, supplements can help us maintain our vitamin input.  and Trustpilot.
